Life rolls on.
I've been a busy Mimi this week at Marilyn's house. Washing, folding and sorting all the incredible things that this little girl has to wear. She will never be nekkid. IF she ever grows up a little, she might fit into some of the newborn stuff. :)
As I left their apartment yesterday, TIRED AS HELL, my phone rang and it was Diana in a panic. The doctor had called and said that the baby had tested positive for some kind of infection and for them to rush her, right now, to the emergency room. Poor kids, in that panic, they took her directly. No bottle. No diapers. No shoes. No socks.
I can laugh now that we are over the panic hump LOL....
Diana had some kind of infection going on during delivery, running a fever. Seems Marilyn had that infection as well and when they are that little, they do not play around. She can get very very sick, very very VERY fast. So she's back in the hospital on an IV filled with antibiotics for two days at least. Longer if the infection is still present after two days.
So for now, all is well, other than they were just getting settled and now are back at the hospital for a few days.
Ok, I have a TON of life that has piled up this week while I sat and held my angel. I have to get back to it, Marilyn has requested I bring her a Snickers and Diet Coke when I go see her this afternoon. That's Mimi's girl.
Enjoy your weekend and be safe!

I'm sure this will all be fine but keeping you all in our prayers this weekend.
I too had the mystery infection during my delivery with son #1 so I know how scary that can be. xoxo
Thanks Deb...the tests all looked good yesterday, so we have high hopes for the culture tomorrow. Then she can go back home and get on with eating Snickers with Mimi. :)
I'm sure everything will be fine. So, you got a baby seat for the bike yet? ;)
LOL Lori, she wants her own. No back seat riding for a girl of mine. ;)
I had that too and my little guy had to be in the NICU for three days. At almost 10lbs he was their "Little Sumo" in the NICU. All was and is fine which I'm sure will be the case with Marilyn.
This has happened with 3 of Amy's four kids. I'm an old hand at it now. Trust me....they grow into ornery tykes in spite of the emergency runs and iv's. LOL!
OMG.
I must hold her.
Now. What a doll baby!
God bless doctors who are on top of things!
Wendy and Crabby, who freakin knew?? I'd never heard of this before. That makes me feel better, that it is more common. PHEW.
Thanks very much TKW, I happen to totally agree, a doll. :))))
Awww she is so cute! I almost wish LJ had been that small so he could have fit into his newborn clothes as it was he wore them one day only then off to next size. Gosh they grow so quickly
Aw how tiny and precious. I am glad this was caught. I heard of Jondus but nothing like that. How scary as if giving birth is not scary enough as it is. What a good Mimi. Wow and snickers to... yum.
She is so sweet and petite. Nice photo.
gab - don't they?
Barman, we shared one. :)
Thanks jyflol
I wish I had a Grandchild!
Someday........
Ride safe today sweetie!
Galen xo
I've been so busy I missed the arrival. Congrats!
I'm sending hugs, kisses, squeezes and love.
It is so very common, but it sure is scary! I'm glad that she is well taken care of and Snicker-supplied. :)
Love to everyone!
Oh, and that picture is GORGEOUS!
Daughter #1 had the same infection and was hospitalized for 9 days. It's probably Beta Strep. It's a nasty one but easily treated.
She's just perfectly beautiful!
I just watched all the pics from flicker there on the side....and I cried. So cute. Reminded me of when Logan was born this past Jan except he was a whole lot bigger. I showed my daughter(logans mom) and she was like how come she gets a little baby and I get an elephant! lol Glad to know both mom and baby are doing fine. Hugs to you all and CONGRATS!
Awwww so cute! what an awful scare though : (
