Fishing

I tagged along. Even tho getting up at 4AM was NOT my idea of a way to spend Sunday morning and I fully think I've earned the right to stay in bed and let MilkMan get his his kid time in. I mean, I have it WAY up on him, all the time with the diapers, shopping, cooking, cleaning, art and cleaning his toilet....yanno? But Tyler asked if I was coming and that's all it took. Besides, the back of this boat has a cool big soft cover that covers the motor that promised sweet sleep while rocking in the waves and sucking up the sweet lake breeze.

So anyway...by the time we launched it was about 5:30-6:00 am. JUUUUSTT starting to be light so I wasn't too nervous about being on the lake in the dark.

To back up a little, we hear so many horror stories about all the NUTS on Lake Conroe in the ski boats and personal water craft and it is the truth that you do have to be pretty aware while you are boating on the weekend. But for the most part we find that everybody is aware and we've had no problems so far.

Sunday morning at 6:00 am, unbeknown to us, there is a fairly LARGE fishing tournament held every weekend. So as we were gliding across the smooth lake at the fastest speed we've gotten to take the boat so far, enjoying the morning, suddenly, we were being faced with more and more bass boats. Hauling ASS. Towards us. And let me tell you, those bastards do NOT yield one single second.

So, if you are on Lake Conroe, watch out for the bass fishermen, the jet skis are nothing compared to a man on a mission on Sunday morning looking for a fish.

heeehee!!! Hubby used to do the tournaments - he was actually in a *fishing club*. He quit. Said it took all the fun out of fishing.

Yep, you do not want to be anywhere near BLASTOFF or WEIGH-IN!
And those boys do start early.

You need to get the boys some butt seats for fishing.

Good times! And I love the early am on the lake and the evening too. Only a very few places we'll do after dark though.

Look at little kid's curls. Man, I'd kill for those.

The boat sounds so relaxing, well, except for the bass masters.

Tina, those guys were WAY WAY serious. I was at the ramp when they were checking in those giant fish and ...it was all business. We'd be hooping and yelping if we had fish that big on our boat LOL...they were letting them all go. ;)

Sign...him and MilkMan both have GORGEOUS hair. I can't let MilkMan out of my sight if he has his hair down, the girls are nuts over it and I can't deal with his big ass'd fat head like that LOL....

Damn! That's a big fish he caught! I never catch anything that big.

I think you should stand your ground with the bass fishers and just sit there. See if they don't yield.

(snicker...snicker...)

Um seriously, you have rights!
(chuckle chuckle SNOOORT)

PS. You CAN swim? Right?

I have a fisherman in my family too. I've hauled ass through the gulf with him on his flats boat about 60 mph with nothing to hold onto. Not that much fun if you ask me. Catch and release doesn't make since to me either. what is the point?

Hmmm, I never thought much was worth getting up at 4 am for!! It's a great thing for Little Kid and his dad, though. And you, too. :)

What a fish! Did you cook it?

` Why DO people have to get up at 4 a.m. to fish? Is that when the fish are at their most bitey?

I have not been in a boat on a lake at 6:00 a.m. since I used to go fishing with my Uncle Otto almost 50 years ago. I don't see myself repeating that unless one of my grandkids demands it!

You are a good mommy!

Seequin has a darn good question! What self respecting fish gets his ass outa bed at 4 am? There's nothing to do that early anyhow but watch the bass fisherman knock each other's boats outa the water.

Dang I want to go fishing. I cant believe that Mr Gab and I have fished in over 3 years. It is something we both love to do and we could take grandkids as well. I think I need to talk to Mr Gab again about all this working he does. Life is short.
