Ahhhh....so the rain finally has stopped. We enjoyed all of Saturday on the lake with our pals Britt and Robin.
Robin has what she calls Beach Brain. The total loss of any decent sense when coming upon the sand/water/beach. And the more she described this, I can't be for sure if it's the beach that is causing her problem, the blonde hair or maybe it's the Vodka I saw her pouring into her cup.
So...today is my birthday. That's right, 40 something years later and here I sit with tears in my eyeballs and dripping in my coffee as I read the SWEETEST card Little Kid left for me. I've been working on redoing his room (see pictures at flickr). All the while, he helped me, altho I had to call him and give him direct orders on what help he needed to provide. And he seemed totally uninterested in any decisions that I made on colors etc. Didn't matter to him. Only shoulder shrugs. So, when I read in my birthday card that he REALLY LOVED HIS ROOM...it was worth all the work. And then some. It's the little things.
And I asked for and better get, a new toilet so that I can FINALLY finish the rehab in my master bathroom. And there was a request to my Dad to make me a big, old fashioned, rope and slab board tree swing. For me. And Marilyn. And I totally expect for him to carve his name in the bottom of the swing.

Turning 40 was liberating for me (believe it or not). I seriously don't care what folks think concerning my eccentricities. I totally "get" the ladies that wear daisies in their hair while they play in the sand.

We are planning a Bandera run the first week in October. Right now I have about 12 riders signed up and am working on the Hotel rooms. I also plan to be at the American Legion this weekend to look back into the Chapter. I signed up before the Lone Star run and thats when I had my accident. So I only attended one meeting.
